What Are Dentures?

Dentures are artificial teeth which you can put on and take out from your mouth to replace one or more missing teeth.

Who Needs A Denture?

If you have some or all of your teeth missing as a result of decay or gum disease, you may choose to replace them with a denture.

Are There Different Types of Dentures?

There are different types of dentures made of a wide range of materials.

These include acrylic (plastic-like), cobalt-chrome (metal-based) and flexible dentures.

What To Expect When Getting A Denture?

The process may take several visits and a few weeks to complete.

During your first visit, our dentist will take a mould of your teeth and record some measurements to ensure your final denture fits well.

A model of your actual denture will be prepared and you will be able to “try it on” before the final denture is processed.

When the final denture is completed, you will come for the fitting of your denture. Adjustments will be made as necessary to ensure that it fits well.

Adapting To New Dentures

When a new denture is fitted, it is normal that it may feel strange at first, as your mouth and muscles are adapting to it. While eating and speaking may require a little practice, it will improve overtime.
